Kora of mount Minya Konka (7556m)

Gongga Shan (Minya Konka in Tibetan), the "King of Sichuan", was considered at a time the potential highest mountain on earth. From the top of its 7556m, he remains a majestic mountain and the easternmost 7000m of Tibet and Himalaya. He is also one of the four most sacred mountains in Tibet and a pilgrimage path goes around.

In the middle of magnificient nature, glaciers and peaks over 6000m, all of this enhanced with one or two nights spent in a Tibetan monastery, we invite you to walk with us this exceptional itinerary.

Itinerary:

D1: transport to Kangding.

D2-D3-D4: acclimatization trek around Yala mountain (Yarla in Tibetan). Arrival at the village of Tagong.

D5: drive to Zimei.

D6: hike towards Gongga monastery. Night at the monastery.

D7: day hike towards Minya Konka base camp. Second night at the monastery.

D8-D9-D10-D11: continuation of the kora, crossing of Riwuqie pass (4900m). Arrive in Kangding after four days.

D12: transport back to Chengdu.
